1 CVS Site In Somerset County To Begin COVID-19 Vaccines

Vaccinations will be by appointment only and supplies are limited.

GREEN BROOK, NJ — One CVS store in Somerset County has been named as one of the locations in New Jersey to be getting COVID-19 vaccines. But don't rush over, supplies are limited and vaccinations will be by appointment only.

The CVS site at 137 Route 22 in Green Brook marks the first public COVID-19 vaccination site for the borough.

CVS will receive 19,900 doses of the vaccine through the Federal Pharmacy Partnership, Gov. Phi Murphy said during his Wednesday news conference.

"Because locations and supply are limited, we want to prevent stores from being overwhelmed by those who may seek a vaccination without making an appointment. Vaccinations will be by appointment-only and we want to encourage eligible patients to use our online scheduling tool to find a location that is convenient for them to access," stated a spokesperson with CVS.

As more supply becomes available, the company will expand to more locations and offer additional appointments, according to the release.

CVS patients must register in advance at CVS.com or through the CVS Pharmacy app, and people without online access can contact CVS customer service: (800) 746-7287.

Somerset County currently has seven other COVID-19 vaccine sites, according to state officials:

Additionally, 70 Rite Aid locations in New Jersey will also become vaccine sites, according to state officials. But the company hasn't yet announced which locations will make shots available, but appointments can eventually be made by clicking here.
