Donated Cake to Support Homeless Vets on Display at Kings

CocoLuxe Fine Pastries, Peapack, will donate a cake for the benefit of the homeless veterans in the Hope for Veterans Program, Lyons.

The display cake will be shown at the following Kings Food Markets:

Bernardsville, Saturday, August 3; Bedminster, Saturday, August 17; Warren, Saturday, August 31.

In return for a donation to our veterans, the donor may enter their name and contact number in a drawing for the cake, which will be held on September 1 and the winner will be contacted. The winner will select a delivery date of their choice.

Community Hope provides temporary transitional housing for veterans. It is one of the largest and most comprehensive housing programs for veterans struggling with homelessness. Veterans can reside there for 2 years while rebuilding their lives. The Hope for Veterans program provides safe shelter in a supportive environment; recovery services from depression, post traumatic stress and other forms of mental illness; case management of health and rehabilitation services; access to job programs and computer training; legal aid; peer support; access to benefits and budget counseling to enhance financial self-sufficiency; discharge planning services and linkage to affordable housing. Its 95 beds are currently filled, with veterans graduating out and new men and women entering the program.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children. Members are women, 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution.
