Downed Trees And Wires, Outages Reported In Warren

JCP&L estimates power will be restored by 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

WARREN, NJ — Downed trees and wires, road closures and power outages are being reported Friday morning in Warren following a severe wind storm last night.

A tornado warning was issued in Middlesex, Somerset, Mercer and Hunterdon counties on Friday morning. A severe thunderstorm warning was also issued nearly across the state.

Warren Police are reporting a tree and wires down on Mitchell Avenue and Plainfield Avenue. Emergency crews are currently on their way to the scene as of 7:15 a.m.

Mountainview Road is also closed between Stoningham Drive and Timber Ridge Drive, police say.

As of 4:15 p.m., JCP&L are reporting 16 residents in Warren are without power down from 80 and a total of about 500 down from 1,500 in Somerset County.

JCP&L estimates power will be restored by 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. All of PSE&G customers have been restored in Warren.
