Kids Not Required To Wear Masks At Warren Summer Camp

The Recreation Department will be amending their guidance to state children are not going to be mandated to wear masks in the outdoors.

WARREN, NJ — Warren kids will not have to wear masks during the township's summer camp this year.

"Masks are not being required in the outdoors and it would be ridiculous to have to mandate masks in 90-degree weather on small children outdoors," said Warren Township Committee Person Jolanta Maziarz during the Thursday meeting.

Maziarz said the Recreation Department consulted with Kevin Sumner, the township's Health Official, to figure out the details for the upcoming summer camp.

The Recreation Department will be amending their guidance moving forward to state children are not going to be mandated to wear masks in the outdoors, said Maziarz.

"Of course any parent who is still concerned, anyone with preexisting health conditions and is too young to be vaccinated… if they are not comfortable they can still wear their masks but we are not mandating it," said Maziarz.
