Morristown's Artist’s First Solo Exhibit On Display at Warren Library
The full-time nurse will be showcasing 20 pieces of her artwork at the Warren Library through March 31.

WARREN, NJ — Up-and-coming Morristown artist Laura Jankura will be showcasing her artwork at The Art Space at SCLSNJ’s Warren Township Library branch through March 31.
Jankura, who holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing and works full-time as a nurse, has always enjoyed art as a hobby. She recently exhibited in the “Eight is Enough” art show at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in Summit, organized by art instructor Anne Kullaf.
The current exhibit, “Laura Jankura, Artist/Nurse,” is Jankura’s first solo exhibit and showcases 20 pieces of her artwork.

“In life, you wear many hats; two of mine are being an artist and a nurse,” said Jankura. “I’ve had a passion for art since I was a child. I have been taking art classes on and off since I was about 7 years old. The pieces ‘Mia Casa,’ ‘Hunger,” and ‘Sail Boats’ were ones I did in middle school. For the past two years, I have been attending art classes at the Visual Art Center of New Jersey in Summit which is where I worked on most of the other pieces. In high school, I contemplated working in the arts, but I have always loved the sciences. I love working as a nurse and love that I have always kept art in my life. Art is my favorite way to escape from everyday life and I love that there is no pressure when creating my pieces. I think being an artist and a nurse are two of my favorite hats to wear.”
Jankura works primarily in pastel, as well as acrylic and watercolor. Subjects include the beach, flowers, and her cat.
