Overturned Crash On I-78 Hospitalizes Multiple Passengers

All lanes have since reopened yet delays of up to 15 minutes are still being reported between exit 36 and exit 40, police say.

WARREN, NJ — A four car crash involving an overturned vehicle on Interstate 78 East in Warren caused major delays Thursday morning.

The crash was reported at 9:38 a.m. on July 25 on the eastbound side of the highway just west of exit 40 in Warren, New Jersey State Trooper Alejandro Goez said.

Four vehicles — Nissan Altima, Toyota Rav 4, Mitsubishi Outlander, and Mercedes Benz — were involved in the crash. It is unknown which car overturned, Goez said.

Multiple passengers were taken to Morristown Hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

All lanes were closed as a result of the cleanup and investigation. All lanes have since reopened yet delays of up to 15 minutes are still being reported between exit 36 and exit 40, according to 511nj.org.
