Schmidt Services Set For Saturday

Services for Pamela Schmidt will be held at Higgins Funeral Home in Watchung Saturday at 11 a.m., according to the funeral home's website.

Schmidt's in the Cranford home of her boyfriend William Parisio. Police and members of the Union County Prosecutor's office said Schmidt was dead at the scene, the victim of trauma, and have charged Parisio with murder.

The obituary noted Schmidt was born and raised in Somerset, and was a senior at Rutgers University, planning to graduate in the spring with degrees in Labor Relations, Psychology and Human Resources. She had plans to continue her education at Rutgers' graduate school of human resources.

Schmidt, a Watchung Hills grad who was living with her family in Warren, had been working at Amicus Therapeutics, in Cranford, in the human resource department, and was previously an intern at Sirius XM Radio. She was remembered as "extremely active, hard-working, compassionate, family-oriented, and loving" in the obituary.

"She touched the lives of everyone she met," the obituary continued. "Pam had the unique ability to unite and reconnect family and friends from different generations and backgrounds. Her deep compassion and ability to help others brought joy and comfort to those close to her."

She is survived by her mother and father, Marcy and Werner; her sister and brother, Stephanie and Michael; her grandparents, Eleonore, Werner, Morris and Myrna; her uncles, Paul, Mark, and Lenny; her cousins, Seth and Brandon; and numerous other close family and friends.

Higgins Home for Funerals is located at 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. The services will be followed by interment at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
