• The Short Story: Sophomore Brooke Stanicki led the Johns Hopkins women's fencing team as she won the Foil title at the 2018 NIWFA Christmas Invitational. Freshman Cherlin Zhu took fifth place in the Sabre. Both Stanicki and Zhu are Warren residents, former fencers from varsity team, Watchung Hills Regional High School.

How it Happened
• Stanicki went an impressive 23-0 to claim the Foil championship. She also earned her 100th career win and is the 14th Foilist in program history to reach the milestone. Stanicki is the fourth NIWFA Christmas Invitational Foil champion and first since 2011. Senior Kiera Wolfe finished in seventh place with a 10-8 record in her final competition, as she will graduate this month. She finishes her career with a 94-102 record.

• Sophomore Shaina Morris led the Epee squad with a 19-4 record and a fourth-place finish. Junior Shivani Bisen went 11-11 to finish in sixth place. Senior Jaynie Criscione placed ninth with an 11-5 record and freshman Bridget O'Leary placed 14th after going 5-8.
• In the Sabre, senior Maggie Vitale led the Jays with a third-place finish with a 17-4 record. Sophomore Rebecca Zhou went 19-2 and finished in fourth place. She now needs just three wins to reach 100 for her career. Freshman Cherlin Zhu took fifth place as she went 15-9 on the day.
