Trinity United Church Welcomes New Pastor

Join us on June 21st.

Trinity United Church is excited and delighted to introduce to you Pastor Roberto Fois, who has accepted the invitation to lead the congregation in worship and service, and help discern and realize the future as a church. Pastor Roberto was chosen by the selection committee, and approved by the Covenant Board and both of the denominations.
Pastor Roberto writes, “I am honored that the Covenant Board has invited me to lead Trinity United congregation in worship and service. On June 15th we will begin our journey together. On June 21st we will celebrate our first Sunday Worship Service together, and from then on, I will be at your disposal to support, sustain and inspire you as we strive to BE the church in the midst of these very strange times. We are a church of fellowship and yet getting in physical proximity of each other is not safe right now, so we have to resort to the miracle of technology to remind ourselves that we belong together. We are a church of peace and yet we must contemplate the fact that there is no peace without justice, so we accept and play a role in seeking justice for those to whom justice has been denied for so long. We are a church of communion and we share the elements together in novel ways, motivating us to share our bread with those in need, whether church members or not. We are a church of singing and yet we find ourselves denied the possibility of singing together, so we raise our voices in a cacophony as disparate as we are, to sing to the glory of God and to the needs of the people. I have accepted the responsibility in full awareness that the challenges are real and the task ahead arduous. But also, in full awareness of the awesome power of God to bring about renewal, restoration and rebirth. Some of you might be active and eager to jump in and DO! Some of you might have grown indifferent to the church and have filled Sunday morning with other activities or rest. Some of you might be ambivalent, not really sure how to be the church in these difficult times. Even others, might be angry at the church for past mistakes, angry at God for the losses you have suffered or angry at each other for slights real or imaginary. Wherever you are in journey, please know that here, at Trinity United Church, all are welcome. I welcome your efforts to be the church together. I welcome your hands, young or old, full of vigor or tired, to do the work that needs to be done to be a better church. I welcome your voices, high or low, fine or coarse, to sing the praises of God and lift up the congregation. I welcome your ideas, new or tried and true, and worth trying again, to lift each other up and be the best church we can be. I welcome your time, your talent, your contribution, your commitment, little or much, and your guidance to be a force for good in our community and beyond. Most of all I welcome your prayers, individual and communal, so that the effort may be blessed and we may find success in our endeavor.”
