Warren Man Faces Assault Charge After Attack On Store Clerk: Cops

WARREN, NJ — A Warren Township man was arrested after police say he assaulted a Krauszer's employee last week.

On May 13 at around 7:40 p.m., an employee at Krauszer's Convenience Store on Mountain Avenue called 911 to report the assault said Somerset County Prosecutor Michael Robertson and Warren Police Chief William Keane.

The employee said an irate customer, identified as Thomas Lamara, 66, of Warrenville Road, got into a fight with him, said Robertson.

A surveillance video caught the fight on camera and Warren Police confirmed the employee's story.

The employee reportedly suffered a minor injury but refused medical treatment.

Lamara was charged with third-degree possession of cocaine and a disorderly persons offense of simple assault. He was released on his own recognizance.
