Warren Native Performs On Good Morning America With Sofia Carson

WARREN, NJ — Warren native and keyboardist Michael Arrom performed with American actress and singer Sofia Carson on Good Morning America on Wednesday. Carson performed her new single "I Luv U."

"It was a very proud moment," Arrom's father Carlos said. "I know he works very hard."

Carlos and his wife Paula, long-time Warren residents, traveled into New York City at 4:30 a.m. to see their son perform with Carson, who is well known for her career with Disney. He said it was "exciting" to see his son’s performance.

Arrom's musical career started at the young age of five years old.

"He used to play on his grandmother's piano in her house and we knew he had talent," Carlos Arrom said. "We got him lessons, bought him a keyboard and he has been playing ever since."

He attended Mt. Horeb School and the Middle School in Warren before attending Pingry for his high school years. Throughout his school years he continued to perform the keyboard.

His career really took off when Arrom was 18 years old and he was invited to play with Keith Urban at the Country Music Awards. He later moved to Los Angeles to "follow his dream," Arrom's dad, Carlos said.

Along with performing with Carson, Arrom also teaches the Piano Proficiency course for music majors and maintains a private keyboard teaching studio at the University of Southern California.
