Warren Niece Gives Salon Makeover In Aunt’s Honor

GARWOOD, NJ — It’s all in the family as Warren local Stephanie Savino is taking over her aunt’s long-time salon in Garwood and giving it an updated makeover as Bella Rococo at Emilia’s Salon.

Savino, formerly of Linden and now living in Warren, has always had a passion for beauty so when the opportunity came up to take over her aunt’s salon she jumped at the chance.

"I was a hair dresser for 10 years and a makeup artist for 16 years," Savino said. "I always knew I wanted to open something, this came at the perfect time."

Savino’s aunt had opened Emilia’s Salon at 105 Center St. about 40 years ago before Savino stepped in and took over the salon in June.

"She came over from Italy and started from nothing," Savino said of her aunt Emilia. "To have her here and learn from her and grow from her, it is special."

Honoring her aunt began with the name of the salon. Savino changed the name slightly while still finding a way to honor her aunt with the new name Bella Rococo at Emilia’s Salon.

"I reopened it and honored everything she has done," Savino said.

Bella Rococo At Emilia's salon specializes in bridal, but they provide on site hair and makeup services for any occasion in addition to makeup and hair classes and lessons.

"We are more of an on-site makeup company offering onsite services for any hair and make up services," Savino said.

Bella Rococo offers services including chemical smoothing treatment, Deva curl, blowouts, extensions, spray tanning, makeup, eyelash extension, body waxing and full face.

Savino also offers workshops throughout the year including mommy and me styling classes that teach braiding and other styles.

She is also offering several specials for December including blowout packages, unlimited spray tans, waxing Wednesdays and New Year’s Eve makeup applications.
