Warren Rock Band Needs Your Vote To Open For Philly Show

WARREN, NJ — The Warren-based rock band "The View From Here" needs your vote to help win a contest for a chance to open for the American rock band Bayside at their Philadelphia show on Nov. 15. Contest voting ends on Sunday, Oct. 13.

Vince Rifino, a Warren native and Watchung Hills Regional High School graduate, plays the drums and hopes to win the contest to give their band more exposure.

"We are looking for support from the town," Rifino said. "This could be a big opportunity. Bayside is a nationally touring band and it’s going to be their 20-year reunion show so it will be sold out. This would be able to open doors for us."

Locals can visit Bayside’s voting page here to listen to each band and cast their vote.

The View From Here was formed about five years ago with Rifino and Dan John who both went to school together. John is on vocals and the other musicians are all from the Central Jersey area including Justin Byron on guitar, Ben Avila on guitar and Michael Nobrega on Bass.

For Rifino music is his passion.

"I grew up in a family of musicians and got my first drum set when I was 6 years old and been playing ever since," Rifino said.

The View From Here can be compared to bands such as Taking Back Sunday, The Story So Far and Thrice. Right now the band is heading back into the studio to record a second album.

"We are just looking for local support whether you like Classic or Modern Rock, give us a listen. Give us a chance," Rifino said. "Every single vote helps us to achieve something and possibly change our future."
