5 New Businesses Are Coming To The Shoppes At Watchung

WATCHUNG, NJ — Now that the former Sears store has been fully demolished and construction is already well underway at the Shoppes at Watchung, let's take a look at what you can expect.

A movie theater, a wine and burger joint and home furnishing stores are among those that have already signed a lease at the brand new shopping center off Route 22 East.

Cinemark Theater will be opening on the site off Terrill Road near the Watchung Commons shopping center. A sign on the theater says the theater is slated to open this spring.

Additionally, Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar, Ulta Beauty, Sierra Trading Post, and Home Sense have announced they are also opening at the location on the site on the opposite side of Terrill Road nearest to Raymour &Flanigan.

There are also five sites still open for lease by Jeffrey Realty.

The Sears location at 1640 Route 22 East in Watchung closed in 2017 among the company's first round of closures to try and stay afloat. The company has since announced more closures across the country this year. (See Related: Sears In Watchung To Close)
