$5K Reward Offered for Info on Watchung Man's Killing

It's been more a year since his death, but Lamont F. Downing has not been forgotten.

Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura said they're offering a $5,000 reward for information on the circumstances that led to Downing's death, according to an article on NJ.com.

A 34-year-old Watchung resident, Downing was found slumped down in the front seat of a minivan with multiple gunshot wounds in Irvington at about 10 p.m. last Dec. 3.

Born in Newark, Downing had realized a longtime dream when he opened a beauty supply shop in Newark in 2004, according to a memorial leaflet given to mourners at his memorial service. He left behind his wife, Tiffahaney, and five children.
