BJ's Offers Discounts In Wake Of Sam's Club Closures

WATCHUNG, NJ — Following the sudden closure of the Linden Sam's Club, many have lamented the closing of a go-to store. Fortunately for shoppers, BJ's Wholesale is offering discounts on their memberships to former Sam's Club members.

Normally $55, memberships are available for $40 for former Sam's Club members. Memberships include access to the stores, and a second card for a household member. More members can be added on for $30 each. You can sign up for a discount membership by clicking here.

"We’ve had an immediate increase in Sam’s Club members joining BJ’s Wholesale Club," according to a statement released by BJ's Whole sale.

• Flemington, 186 State Route 31
• North Brunswick, 2451 U.S. Highway 1 South
• Linden, 1001 E. Edgar Rd.

Costco

For those interested in switching over to Costco, memberships start at $60 for the year, and include one extra card for a second member of the household. You can compare membership options here.

Costco declined to say if they're planning to discount memberships.

Sam's Club

Still devoted to Sam's Club? The Edison and Secaucus locations will remain open, but the Princeton location is set to close later this month.

Shoppers looking for a refund on their membership can call 888-746-7726. Refunds will either be issued as a check within six weeks, or as a Walmart gift card in a shorter time frame.
