Blood Drive To Be Held In Watchung
The NJ Blood Services is asking for donations of all blood types, but especially O-negative – the "universal" blood.

WATCHUNG, NJ — The New Jersey Blood Services will be hosting multiple blood drives in the Somerset County area, including in Watchung.
The NJ Blood Services is asking for donations of all blood types, but especially O-negative – the “universal” blood which can be transfused into anyone in an emergency.
Additionally, inventory of several blood types is running below the desired target level.

The following drives are scheduled in the near future:
- Thursday, April 19: Gill St. Bernard's, 21 St. Bernard's Road, Gladstone, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Saturday, April 21: Firemen's Exempt Hall, 31 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Monday, April 23: Somerville Elks, 375 Union Ave., Bridgewater, 1 to 7 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 25: Raritan Valley Community College, 119 Lamington Road, Branchburg, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Friday, April 27: Franklin Twp. Municipal Building, 475 De Mott Lane, Somerset, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Sunday, April 29: St. Bernard's Church, 500 Rt. 22 East, Bridgewater, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

NJ Blood Services is also in need of volunteers to work blood drives. The blood mobile volunteer is an integral member of the blood collection team whose task it is assist donors with registration, perform canteen duties and make appointments for their next donation.
Volunteers should have the ability to relate to the public, be able to perform different jobs as needed and have the willingness to follow the rules.
