Environmental Education Center Announces Upcoming Events
Check out some of the upcoming events for kids and families at the Environmental Education Center for the week of April 6 through April 12.

The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center has announced a series of events for the week of April 6 through April 12. The Environmental Education Center, 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge, has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs for children and adults as spring begins.
Children, teen and child/parent programs
Jaws and Claws! Tuesday, April 7 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.

Children ages infant to 5 with a parent will learn about how animals of all sizes use their jaws and claws. Fee is $10 per pair and $5 per additional child. Register online or call 908-766-2489. Advance payment required.
Tot Trek Friday, April 10 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.

Children age infant to 5 with a parent will leave their strollers behind for a leisurely walk along the trails of Lord Stirling Park to enjoy the natural beauty of spring in New Jersey. Program is free. Register online or call 908-766-2489.
Wild Kids Sundays, April 12 & 19 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
Children age infant to 5 with a parent will cure cabin fever on an exploration of the Great Swamp using the five senses to explore the natural world. Fee is $14 per pair for the four-day session and $7 per additional child. Register online or call 908-766-2489. Advance payment required.
Adult and family programs
Forest Fitness Tuesdays, April 7, 14, 21, and 28 from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M.
Adults are invited to join a weekly walking group, enjoying nature along the level trails of Lord Stirling Park.Fee is $20 for the four-day session. Register online or call 908-766-2489. Advance payment required.
Raritan Bay Birding Thursday, April 9 from 8 A.M. to 6 P.M.
Adult birders will join a Naturalist on a trip to the Raritan Bay visiting sites along Hartshorne Woods, the Shrewsbury and Navasink rivers, Conaskonk Point and more. Fee is $50 per person and $40 per senior. Register online or call 908-766-2489. Advance payment required.
Bluebird Walk Saturday, April 11 from 2 P.M. to 3 P.M.
Family and friends of all ages will join a Naturalist for a walk on the trails of Lord Stirling Park to seek the beautiful eastern bluebird on its spring migration. The program is free.
