Environmental Education Center Announces Upcoming Events

Check out some of the upcoming events for kids and families at the Environmental Education Center.

The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center has announced a series of events for the week of April 13 through April 19. The Environmental Education Center, 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge, has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs for children and adults as spring begins.

ADULT & FAMILY PROGRAMS

Pocono Waterfall Hunt Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Adults will enjoy a trip to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area to locate as many waterfalls as is possible in one day. Fee is $50 per adult and $40 per senior. Register online at www.somersetcountyparks.org or call 908-766-2489. Advance payment required.

New Jersey Snakes FREE PROGRAM Sunday, April 19 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Family and friends of all ages will enjoy a presentation on the 22 varieties of snakes calling New Jersey home, learning to identify, dispel myths and what to do when a snake is encountered. The presentation is free.
