Environmental Education Center Announces Upcoming Events

Check out some of the upcoming events for kids and families at the Environmental Education Center for the week of April 20 through April 26.

The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center has announced a series of events for the week of April 20 through April 26. The Environmental Education Center, 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge, has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs for children and adults as spring begins.

Children, teen and child/parent programs

Story Hour – FREE PROGRAM Saturday, April 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Children ages infant to 5 with a parent will listen to a Naturalist read an environmental-based story and enjoy a short walk on the trails of the EEC. The program is free. Register online at www.somersetcountyparks.org or call 908-766-2489.

Adult and family programs

Woodland Wildflowers - FREE PROGRAM Wednesday, April 24 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Adults will join a Naturalist for a leisurely walk through Lord Stirling Park in search of wildflowers carpeting the forest floor. Program is free. Register online at www.somersetcountyparks.org or call 908-766-2489.

Blue “BOBO (Buy One – Bring One) Fridays” bins now are located at the Environmental Education Center and Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge, as well as at the Somerset County Park Commission headquarters at North Branch Park in Bridgewater, the Somerset County Park Commission said. The public is invited to drop off canned food or personal-care items for donation to Somerset County food banks
