Green Brook Student Athlete Sign Letter Of Intent To Continue Athletics In College

A Green Brook student is among 7 athletes from Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child who will continue their athletic endeavors collegiately

SUMMIT, NJ – A Green Brook student is among seven senior athletes from Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child who confirmed their commitment to continue their athletic endeavors collegiately by signing early National Letters of Intent Wednesday.

Grace Coleman ’17, signed with Davidson College to play field hockey; Margie Keenan ’17 signed with Providence College for swimming; and Gillian Lawlor ’17 signed with Boston College for fencing. Ali Baiocco ’17 and Dede Daly ’17 signed letters of intent to play lacrosse at Stanford University and Vanderbilt University, respectively. Lizzy Doherty ’17 and Diana Kelly ’17, also signed letters of intent to play lacrosse, both at the University of Notre Dame.

  • Baiocco, of New Vernon, played varsity lacrosse and tennis at Oak Knoll since her freshman year. She was named Second Team All-State in lacrosse during her freshman year, as well as First Team All-State in lacrosse during her sophomore year. She successfully returned to the tennis court this fall after missing much of last year’s lacrosse season to a torn ACL.
  • Coleman, of Short Hills, has played field hockey for four years at Oak Knoll and was one nine Royals to be named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association / Keith Waldman - Optimal Performance Associates High School National Academic Squad earlier this year. She also ran spring track and was a member of the Oak Knoll swim team.
  • Daly, of Summit, has played lacrosse since the first grade and is also a member of Oak Knoll’s soccer and ice hockey teams. Recently, Daly scored her 50th career goal in soccer during the NJSIAA Prep A tournament.
  • Doherty, of Chatham, a defender for Oak Knoll’s lacrosse program, was named earlier this year to the 2016 Under Armour Underclass Tournament. A three-sport athlete, Doherty is also a member of the swimming and soccer teams at Oak Knoll. Doherty has played lacrosse since the fourth grade.
  • Keenan, of Summit, has been swimming competitively since she was 10 years old. She swam and ran track each year while at Oak Knoll. During her sophomore and junior years, Keenan was recognized as the swim team’s Most Outstanding Player. She has also been a Meet of Champions swimmer each year. Beyond Oak Knoll, Keenan is a member of the Summit Area YMCA team, where she became a National Swimmer during her sophomore year.
  • Kelly, of Chatham, a midfielder for Oak Knoll’s lacrosse team, joined Doherty in being named to the 2016 Under Armour Underclass Tournament. Kelly, who was also named an All-American in 2016, has played since she was in the third grade.
  • Lawlor, of Green Brook, has been fencing for more than 3 years, and is a nationally C-rated fencer. In 2016, Lawlor was named All Union County Conference First Team in 2016 and earned MVP honors as a junior – the same year she was also a silver medalist in the New Jersey State Prep Championships. Outside of Oak Knoll, Lawlor competes nationally and internationally, placing sixth out of more than 120 fencers from throughout the country in the Division III Women’s Saber competition during the US National Championships in Dallas last summer.
