More Businesses Headed To The Shoppes At Watchung

See what is opening at the new shopping center that is taking the place of the longtime Sears store.

WATCHUNG, NJ — As construction begins to come to a close at the Shoppes at Watchung more businesses are planning to open. Take a look at what new businesses are coming.

The shopping center, which took the place of the longtime Sears store, now has eight confirmed businesses.

New businesses that are slated to open include Sports Clips and David's Bridal, according to Jeffrey Realty.

A luxury movie theater, Cinemark Theater, was the first to open on April 18 on the site off Terrill Road near the Watchung Commons shopping center. Ulta Beauty opened in the early summer. (See Related: Get A Sneak Peek At Cinemark's New Theatre Opening)

Sierra Trading Post, Home Sense, Chick-fil-A and Zinburger are also opening at the location on the site on the opposite side of Terrill Road nearest to Raymour & Flanigan. Opening dates have not yet been announced.

There are still sites left for lease by Jeffrey Realty.

The Sears location at 1640 Route 22 East in Watchung closed in 2017 among the company's first round of closures to try to stay afloat. The company has since announced more closures across the country. (See Related: Sears In Watchung To Close)
