NJ Couple Sues Taco Bell After $2.18 Chalupa Dispute: Report

The couple went to the Taco Bell on Route 22 in Green Brook and were over charged for their meals, according to a report.

GREEN BROOK, NJ — A difference of $2.18 has caused one New Jersey couple to sue Taco Bell, according to a report on mycentraljersey.com.

The couple, Nelson Estrella-Rojas and his wife, Joanna Estrella, ordered two Chalupa Cravings Boxes from the Route 22 restaurant in Green Brook, according to the report.

The bill came to $12.99, which included 81 cents of sales tax. The couple states in their lawsuit that they should have been charged just $10, as the boxes cost $5 a piece, according to the website.

The couple claims that a disclaimer shown on a commercial for the Chalupa Cravings Boxes violates the state's Consumer Fraud Statute, the report stated, and the commercial was a "false and misleading advertisement."
