Opie Brinson Jr.

Green Brook resident and owner of Fire Control Electrical Systems.

Opie F. Brinson Jr., age 71, died on March 13 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. He was born in New Brunswick, grew up in Plainfield and had lived in Green Brook for the past 21 years. 

Mr. Brinson proudly served in the United States Army. 

Prior to his retirement in 2007, Mr. Brinson was the owner of Fire Control Electrical Systems, Inc. 

He was a member of the North Plainfield Italian American Club and a communicant of St. Joseph's RC Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing poker with his friends every Wednesday and collecting baseball cards. He was an avid Mets and Giants fan and loved spending time with his friends and family. He also loved his Cairn Terrier, Mackenzie. 

He is predeceased by his parents, Opie Brinson, Sr. and Mary Brinson and his sister, Linda McCray. 

Mr. Brinson is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Frances Rose Pasquerello Brinson; his daughters, Sheri Holt and her husband, Scott of Manassas, VA, April Brinson-Carrano and her husband, Guido of Warren, Tammy Latif and her husband, Michael of Hillsborough and Stacey Viscariello and her husband, Bruno of Hillsborough; his brother, Lewis Brinson of Savannah, GA; his sisters, Mary Ann Althausen of Neshanic Station and Marlene Gorel of Piscataway; his grandchildren, Steven Brinson Julius, Angelina Frances Carrano, Cristina Rose Carrano, Michael Opie Latif, Jr. and Gia Marie Viscariello and many nieces, nephews and extended family. 

Services were held March 16 at Higgins Home for Funerals.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Tribute Program, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
