WATCHUNG, NJ — There were multiple reports of shoplifting in Watchung in the past week, as well as cases of fraud.
Here's the full Watchung police blotter for the period between June 28 and July 2.
On June 28: At around 11:25 p.m. the Watchung Police responded to Walmart to investigate a shoplifting incident. Walmart security reported that a man and woman tried to shoplift. The two suspects fled the store when confronted by security. Security reported that the two suspects entered a cab in the parking lot.

On June 29: At around 2:47 p.m. the Watchung Police arrested Craig Williams, 58, of North Plainfield, on an active warrant out of Union Township Municipal Court. The warrant was discovered during a traffic stop on Hillcrest Road. Williams was released after posting bail pending a Union Township Municipal Court date.
On June 29: At around 7:21 p.m. the Watchung Police responded to Home Depot to investigate a report of shoplifting. Security said that two men concealed merchandise in a backpack and tried to leave the store without paying. The two men fled the store when confronted by security, leaving the items behind.

On June 30: At around 9:38 a.m. the Watchung Police responded to the parking lof of B.J.'s Wholesale Club to investigate a report of criminal mischief. The caller reported that someone "keyed" his car.
On June 30: At around 4:24 p.m. a resident of Staten Island reported a theft and fraud incident. The victim told police that someone used their credit card at the Chipolte Mexican Grill Restaurant. Police are investigating.
On July 1: At around 6:06 a.m. the Watchung Police responded to a residence on Pine Lane to investigate a car burglary. The resident told police that he reviewed home security video and discovered that someone opened the door to his parked and unlocked vehicle at 1:43 a.m. before fleeing on foot to a waiting vehicle. Nothing was stolen.
On July 1: At around 10:16 p.m. Watchung Police responded to a residence on Johnson Drive to investigate a fraud report. The victim told police that he hired an unknown repairman to fix a household appliance. The victim paid the repairman for the parts and service and the repairman never returned to perform the repair. Police are investigating.
On July 1: At around 3:16 p.m. the Watchung Police responded to the Liccardi Ford dealership to investigate a theft report. the manager reported that several dealer licence plates were missing from the dealership. There are no suspects at this time.
