Under the direction and instruction of Mrs. Monica Schraiber Otero, Google Classroom trained and experienced in teaching art remotely, this Art Camp focuses on Creativity, Imagination and Ingenuity. The Art Camp offers children a unique opportunity to acquire or improve artistic skills, learn new techniques, explore different media and get inspired by famous artists. All, while having fun!

Central Theme for 2020: Masterpieces of the 19th & 20th Centuries. Students learn about the life and work of modern masters such as van Gogh, Matisse, O’Keeffe, Monet, Picasso, Reilly among others, as they create pieces based on their techniques. Using wet and dry media, they draw and paint with pencil, oil and chalk pastels, crayons, markers, watercolors, tempera, and acrylic paints. In addition to sculpting with modeling clay, participants make collages, prints and build structures out of recyclables. During each cycle, students create a small acrylic painting on canvas suitable for framing! Students also design their own camp T-shirt.

Online visuals and presentations are part of the lessons. Up to three different projects are done every day with breaks for stretching / snacks / supply set up time in between activities. (Projects vary each week!) If a student is unable to attend a particular session, the instructor will try to provide a recording of that class enabling him/her to complete their work.

For a complete experience, it is recommended that campers attend all three one-week cycles. Registration is also available on a weekly basis. The schedule is as follows:

Cycle I: July 6 – July 10
Cycle II: July 13 – July 17
Cycle III: July 20 – July 24
