Alcohol Ink Art Workshop Instructor: June Lanza

Alcohol Ink is an acid free, fast drying and highly pigmented liquid medium that easily glides around a non-porous surface, allowing it to be manipulated into swirling shapes and be used on a large variety of surfaces.

June Lanza realized her love for art at the age of 5. Over the years, she has dabbled in numerous mediums, but currently spends her days perfecting her paper crafting and mixed media art. Alcohol Inks, in particular, have piqued her interest due to its limitless possibilities and the fact that anyone can have success with them.

“Come on a journey with me to discover the fun and relaxing ways to use this ink and discover how it responds!”

June has resided in Green Brook for the past 27 years. When she is not in Green Brook, she can be found teaching alcohol ink classes at her studio in Florida.

Little Actors Studio Instructor: Patricia Price

The Little Actors Studio was created by Patricia Price to enhance children’s artistic and creative development. The class offers a rich environment where children flourish by growing in confidence, poise, creativity, and as young performing artists. The class supports the development of the creative, critical thinking and problem solving skills in children through the art of acting, while providing a nurturing environment honoring each child’s uniqueness.

Patricia Price is a Watchung resident, who has been making music with over 1000 families from Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Watchung and surrounding areas for years. A BFA in Theatre from the Ohio State University and trained in New York at the Circle in the Square Acting Conservatory program, Ms. Price brings acting enrichment classes to schools and studios, teaches parent/child music and movement classes, as well as offering private vocal coaching.

Ages: 4-8

Saturdays 10:30am to 11:30am

Explores the elements of acting through Improvisation, Pantomime, Storytelling, Mask work and Puppetry.

(10 Weeks) September 14 – December 7

Ages: 9-13

Wednesdays 4pm to 5pm

The class will focus on scene work, improvisation, monologues, building confidence, and how to act a song.

(8 Weeks) September 18 – November 20

Drawing & Painting Enrichment Workshop Instructor: Monica Schraiber Otero

Young artists improve skills and explore new techniques as they learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting. Students use dry and wet media such as pencil, charcoal, oil or chalk pastels, India ink, non-toxic acrylics and watercolors as they discover how to sketch, shade, paint and use perspective.

Monica Schraiber Otero teaches Drawing and Painting classes at WAC, is the Director of the Summer Art Camp, and curates the Children’s Juried Art Exhibition each year. She has taught Art at elementary and high school levels since 1991. Ms. Otero received her BA in Art from Rutgers University, Newark College of Arts and Sciences with a concentration in oil painting. She is a professional artist who shows her work in many venues throughout NJ.

Iyengar Yoga is a form of yoga with focus on the structural alignment of the physical body through the practice of asanas. It differs from other styles of yoga in three ways: precision, sequence and use of props. Classes of different levels will be held by instructors certified in Iyengar Yoga.

Director / Instructor, Renata Cardinal, became a Studio Yoga Teacher in1998, has been Iyengar Yoga certified since 2004, studies with Teacher Theresa Rowland and continues to take workshops and classes with other renowned Yoga Teachers.

Classes commence Friday, September 20 through Tuesday, December 10

Enjoy Zumba, the fitness program that marries music and dance for a fun and energizing workout at WAC.

Registered instructor, Yuli Oliviera, is a Physical Therapist with over 13 years of experience and a Director of Rehabilitation. She holds Zumba Basic & Zumba Gold (for active older adults or deconditioned participants).

Zumba Open House on Saturday, September 7, 9:15am – 10:15am.

Classes start from Wednesday, September 11

Wednesdays 6:15pm – 7:15pm & Saturdays 9:15am – 10:15am.
