Watchung-Green Brook 9/11 Victims Will Be Remembered Wednesday
3 people from Watchung and Green Brook died in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.
WATCHUNG/GREEN BROOK, NJ — Watchung and Green Brook will host 9/11 memorial ceremonies Wednesday.
Green Brook will host its ceremony at 6:30 p.m. at the 9/11 memorial at Top of the World Park.
Watchung's ceremony will be at 5:30 p.m. at the 9/11 memorial on the Village Green. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at Valley View School on Valley View School.

Three Watchung and Green Brook residents were killed in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001: Alvin Peter Kappelmann Jr., 57, Christopher N. Ingrassia, 28, and Honor Elizabeth Wainio, 27.
Wainio was on flight United 93, which crashed in Somerset County, Pennsylvania after passengers tried to take control of the plane, a 9/11 memorial page said on Legacy.com stated.

Kappelmann Jr. was an insurance executive at Royal and SunAlliance, Legacy.com reported. He was a more than 40-year firefighter in Green Brook.
Ingrassia was a partner at Cantor Fitzgerald, Legacy.com reported.
