Here are the median salaries for Watchung and Green Brook principals and administrators, including superintendents.

WATCHUNG/GREEN BROOK, NJ —The state has released information showing how much school districts budgeted for the salaries of principals, superintendents, and administrators in 2019 and the Watchung Hills Regional High School District ranks high on the list.

The median salary for Watchung Hills administrators $147,803, 39th highest in New Jersey. The 0.82 percent salary increase since 2018 was among the lowest in New Jersey at 384th, the numbers show.

Watchung Boro ranks significantly lower. The median salary there is $117,532, good for 333rd in New Jersey out of 655 districts. The nearly 15 percent salary decrease there was among the biggest salary cuts in New Jersey at 611th.

The median salary in Green Brook Township is $119,350, that is nearly 3 percent less than the previous year.

The median statewide salary is $125,207, a 1 percent increase over 2018.

The information is part of the state Department of Education's Taxpayer's Guide to Education Spending, which shows the median salary in every New Jersey school district.

In addition to median salaries, the site also shows each district's total spending, average daily enrollment and students from sending districts, the per-pupil costs and the district's total budget spending for 2019.
