Watchung PTO’s Food Truck Fridays Returns
This fundraising initiative will occur Oct. 2 and Oct. 9, rain or shine, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Press release from Watchung PTO: The success of the Watchung PTO’s Food Truck Fridays this summer fuels the return of its family-friendly food extravaganza with activities resuming on October 2nd, and October 10th Four food trucks will be parked rain or shine for the Dine-To-Donate community fundraiser held at Bayberry School, 113 Bayberry Lane in Watchung, NJ, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. On hand will be Angry Archies, a family-owned and operated vendor, selling their signature dishes such as crab cake, lobster rolls, crab poutine, and chicken sandwiches. Bro-Ritos will be cooking up their specialty burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. Food For All will be serving up their Italian specialties, sandwiches, and salads. On the dessert front is Glazed and Confused offering made-to-order customized mini donuts in ten flavors.
Trucks will be positioned in the lower portion of the school lot for carryout orders only. Parking is available on-site, and attendees are asked to wear masks and maintain social distancing when ordering. All are welcome to attend and support the Watchung school system. Food Truck Fridays is organized by the Watchung PTO to support students and their families attending district schools. The PTO is fundraising to generate funds for COVID-19 hand-sanitizing stations, leaning supplies, and contactless paper towel dispensers needed at Bayberry and Valley View Schools.
This fundraising initiative will occur three consecutive Fridays this fall operating on September 25, October 2nd, and October 9th, rain or shine from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bayberry School. Each week, dinner entree-based trucks alongside a dessert truck will be selling local specialties to area residents. Trucks will donate a percentage of their proceeds back to the Watchung PTO. All food purchased will be for take-out, and participants are requested to follow COVID-19 guidelines and social distancing measures.
