Watchung has been brimming with wonderful resident-run initiatives to support our neighbors, Hometown Heroes, First Responders, and Essential Workers. WatchungVolunteers.org was created to amplify those efforts and provide a home base for the volunteer opportunities in Watchung.

Launching with the website are two programs to help our local communities. FEED TO GIVE is a fundraiser selling chicken at $1.50/lb to residents, with 100% of proceeds going to the Food Bank Network of Somerset County. FEEDING THE FRONTLINES collects donations, purchases meals at our local Watchung restaurants, and distributes the meals to our First Responders and Health Workers.

Volunteer photographs are holding free photo sessions with the Front Porch Project. Sign up to bake treats for our Long Term Care facilities or to be a pen pal for a local senior resident. WatchungVolunteers.org has also organized a database of local Watchung restaurants and is collecting information about all other locally-owned businesses in Watchung. Connect with local mask maker, Sarah Shell, to assist in sewing masks for First Responders. Information on all these projects can be found at WatchungVolunteers.org.
