Your Neighborhood Coffee Experience Arrives In Watchung

“When Cupa Cabana launched in 1998, I had a grand vision of building the premier espresso and coffee catering business in the tri-state area. And that vision always included a physical coffee shop. Fast forward 20 years and it’s somewhat surreal to be opening Cupa Café in Watchung next month!”

Marianne Cordillo got the idea to create an elegant coffee service after feeling disappointed with the mediocre coffee she was served at an otherwise fabulous wedding reception. She researched, she purchased equipment and along with her husband, Pat, they began booking events on the weekends. That’s all they could do because both worked full-time jobs and there were no employees.

Over the past 20 years, Cupa Cabana has grown from doing an event or two each weekend, to doing several events each day! In addition to weddings and Bar/Bas Mitvah’s you’ll find them at trade shows, corporate events, even Good Morning America or with Dr. Oz!

Marianne and her team are excited to bring the Cupa Cabana brand of quality and service to Somerset County when they open Cupa Café in Watchung next month.

“There’s several things you need to be a success in this business; obviously, you’ve got to have great coffee. And we do! We offer a wide variety of coffees with blends of beans sourced from around the world. But just as important as the coffee, is the service; both must be exceptional. And they are! We have an incredible team at Cupa Cabana, who really take pride and ownership of every event they work. We’re building that same type of Team at Cupa Café.”

Cupa Café’s regular business hours will be from 7AM – 4PM, 7 days a week. In addition to delicious coffee and espresso, they’ll also be offering scrumpcious smoothies, nutritious Acai and Chia Bowls, and a large assortment of locally sourced pastries.

Cordillo said “We’re also planning to host fun events, like Yoga classes, Game Night, local musicians and student talents. And definitely a book club or two. We look forward to serving wonderful people who are already making us feel welcome in their community~ and we haven’t even opened for business yet!"
