Children's House of the Windsors Hosts Family STEM Night

The school partnered with Junior STEM to host the event for families to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)

Montessori Corner Children's House of the Windsors in West Windsor recently hosted its first-ever Family STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) Night. The event was held in partnership with Junior STEM, an organization that offers interactive challenges for young people to explore and was founded by a former Children’s House of the Windsors student. Throughout the evening, 20 students and their families worked together to complete hands-on activities to explore STEM, including making slime, lava lamps and catapults. Families also enjoyed a mad science demonstration and participated in a bridge-making competition. The next Family STEM Night will take place on Feb. 27.

Junior STEM is a student-led organization that meets biweekly with the youth of Central New Jersey in order to reinforce the values of STEM and encourage critical thinking. Junior STEM organizes STEM provoking activities and events to promote creative thinking to kids who are in need of enrichment outside the classroom.
