Choosing an Electric Vehicle Must Makes Sense for Consumers
More EVs will be on NJ roads when it's easier to charge them up! NJ should partner with state's utilities to build needed infrastructure.

Having worked in corporate America for more than 30 years, I experienced the beginning stages of businesses incorporating “green practices” into their model. While no question all the programs were well-intended, some took far too long to implement because they were too expensive and inconvenient. With the Murphy Administration making the commitment to a full clean energy economy by 2050, the transition needs to make sense for businesses and consumers to be successful.
With the transportation sector one of the main contributors to air pollution, Governor Murphy’s commitment of having 330,000 electric vehicles (EV) on the roads by 2025 is a particularly important step in combatting climate change. The swift scale-up of an electric charging infrastructure is critical to making it happen, so drivers, whether for business or pleasure, can easily charge up and get on their way. I understand the state's utilities have plans to help efficiently build these EV charging stations statewide. I am hopeful the state approves these plans quickly, as our state’s utilities certainly have the expertise and capacity to do it cost-effectively.
