Downed Poles And Trees Due To Storm In West Windsor: Police
BREAKING: The problems were the result of a nor'easter ravaging New Jersey on Friday.

WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — Village Road West is closed due to downed trees and power lines, West Windsor police said on Friday. Drivers can travel from Quakerbridge to Deerfield (including Windsor Ponds). They can also travel from Old Trenton Road to Woodhollow. The closure could continue overnight into Saturday.
Extremely high winds are knocking over trees and causing poles to collapse throughout West Windsor Township as a nor'easter tears through New Jersey on Friday, police said. There were scattered outages in the surrounding areas, but none have been reported in West Windsor.
"I am looking at the outage maps and every other town is suffering from power issues including traffic lights," West Windsor Police Chief Robert Garofalo said in an alert. "Because of this, consider travel to be dangerous with the possibility of no signals and falling debris. The high winds have also made outside debris airborne."

In East Brunswick, there are flooded roads and ice conditions, leading to extensive backups.
"Watch for closed roads later this evening due to deep water events," Garofalo said. "Please do not cross any closed road as you may encounter flooded roads and or downed power lines which may still be charged. Also be aware we are seeing more situations were cars are becoming disabled because their electronics are shorting out even though the water was not deep enough to hamper safe travel. Stay safe and dry."
