Montessori Country Day School Butterfly Habitat Grand Opening
Students released butterflies into the new habitat and planted flowers in the school's garden with local gardeners
On May 15, kindergarten and school-age students at Montessori Country Day School in Plainsboro celebrated the grand opening of their butterfly habitat by releasing butterflies into the new space. Leading up to the event, students observed caterpillars and learned about how they undergo metamorphosis to become butterflies. In addition to the grand opening, students worked with local gardeners to plant flowers in the school’s garden, and learned about soil preparation, how to transplant seedlings and care for plants. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of exploring and taking care of nature.
