Multiple Roads Closed As West Windsor Recovers From Storm: Police
There were still more than 5,000 outages in West Windsor Wednesday morning.

WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — Many roads are still closed and there are still more than 5,000 power outages in West Windsor Wednesday morning.
More than 4,000 outages are among PSE&G customers, and the estimated restoration time is 3:30 p.m. Monday. There are also more than 1,000JCP&L customers without power, with no announced estimated restoration time.
There are more than 32,000 Mercer County residents who are still without power altogether.

They are among the more than 937,000 residents statewide who were still without power statewide the morning after Tropical Storm Isaias tore through the state, bringing down thousands of trees and power lines. Read more here: 937K In NJ Still Without Power As Isaias Cleanup Continues
Many roads are closed, including Old Trenton Road in the area of Mercer County Community College. Washington Road is also closed from Route 1 to the railroad bridge (Route 64) due to a hazardous tree. It wasn't clear how long it would take to remove the tree, so it wasn't clear when the road would be reopened.

The map below provides a comprehensive list of problems throughout the town. The updates can be delayed based on how busy the communications center gets.
"Many roads continue to remain closed due to trees/wires still in the roadway," West Windsor police said in a statement. "Some areas have live wires in the roadway. Other areas have wires down which may become energized during repairs. Please do not attempt to cut or remove trees on your own. DPW has been made aware of the trees and will handle them in priority order. Do not remove or go around barricades as they are there to protect your life. Our dispatchers have worked with PSEG / JCPL on the long list of roads closed and power lines down throughout the town. Please do not call dispatch for power return estimates, call your utility. Please stay safe at home."
JCP&L is offering free water and ice to customers remaining out of service. Customers can pick up water and ice at the following locations in Mercer County:
- Saker ShopRites, Inc., 319 Rt 130N, East Windsor
- Shop Rite – Pennington, 2555 Pennington Rd, Pennington
There are also outdoor charging areas available at the West Windsor Senior Center 24/7, officials said. Residents can charge their electronic devices either outdoors in front of the Senior Center at the secure charging station or go around back and use the outlets on the patio and gazebo.
Residents should bring their own chargers and disinfectant. Masks must be worn and residents must follow social distancing guidelines as set forth by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Outdoor areas will only be cleaned once a day.
The Senior Center Wi-Fi is also available from the parking lot of the Senior Center if needed.
