February 17, 2021
Here we go again. Our resident Meteorologist Lt. McMahon believes we are going to get a good amount of snow and based on his report and the report from the NWS, I am giving an Elsa index of 6 for about 6" of snow. Olaf index is a 6 as well due to good snow making and packing. This is also a snow clearing alert for those with medical conditions. Do not shovel. This snow will be too heavy. Use the child lives at home App - its free.

A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect for eastern Pennsylvania, most of New Jersey, northern Delaware and a portion of northeast Maryland.
- Snow develops very late tonight/early Thursday morning, and may become heavy at times through early Thursday afternoon (about 6 AM through 2 PM) when hourly snowfall rates up to 1 inch is possible. This is when road conditions would rapidly deteriorate and become hazardous, especially with temperatures below freezing.
- Snowfall amounts along and south/east of I-95 will depend on how much mixing occurs. There are some indications that a longer period of sleet may occur within a zone across this area.
- A little farther south and east storm track translates to colder air southeastward, which would reduce the freezing rain aspect. However, this will depend on how much of a warm layer aloft is present and how far inland it gets.
- The bulk of the accumulating snow still looks to occur Thursday into Thursday night, with some lighter wintry precipitation lingering into Friday.
Please stay safe and warm. Our officers will be out there 24/7 if you need anything.
