INCIDENT: 2020-22071 Theft

DATE & TIME OCCURRED: 9/27/20 between 7:40 PM and 9:30 PM

LOCATION OCCURRED: Residence in Windsor Ridge development

DETAILS: Ptl. Fiore investigated the theft of two 22 karat gold bangles from a residence. Investigation determined the following: The victim and her husband were moving into their new home and had packed a rented moving truck themselves. Realizing they would not be able to unload the truck without assistance, her husband posted an ad on Craigslist to hire help. Two men answered the ad and came to the house to help unload. They identified themselves as “Art” and “Karin” and did not seem to know each other. After they left, the victim realized her gold bracelets which were left on a ledge in her kitchen had been taken.

DETAILS: Patrol units were detailed to Wegmans for a shoplifter who had been in the market the two previous days stealing alcoholic beverages. Ptl. W. Silcox arrived to find store Assets Protection attempting to detain Frederick King in the parking lot. King was found to be carrying a blue bag that he had concealed bottles of alcoholic beverages in. Over the course of three days, King had stolen over $1,300 in alcoholic beverages. King was processed at WWPD Headquarters, charged with three counts of shoplifting, and released pending future dates in Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS: Patrol units were detailed to a single car crash into the barrier on U.S. Route 1 and Carnegie Center Blvd. During the crash investigation, it was determined that Briana Kelly had lost control of her Honda SUV and struck the end portion of a center median. Kelly was found to be DWI and processed at WWPD Headquarters. She was released pending a future date in West Windsor Municipal Court.

Arrested: Aaron R. Mosley
Resident of Ridgefield Park, NJ 07660

DETAILS: Ptl. Buchanan responded to a report of an intoxicated driver traveling on U.S. Route 1, driving a red Honda Civic. The reporting witness was on 911 with police communications and last reported seeing the vehicle driving onto Meadow Rd. Ptl. Buchanan found the red Honda stopped on Meadow Rd., in between two lanes, a couple of car lengths away from a traffic signal with a green light. A car behind the red Honda activated its horn, but it did not move. Ptl. Buchanan had to knock on the car window to get the drivers attention. During the stop, Aaron Mosley became uncooperative with officers. He was determined to be DWI and when officers went to arrest him, he cursed at them and resisted them. Mosley was also found to be a “Wanted Person” out of Trenton. Mosley was processed at WWPD Headquarters and transported to the Mercer County Correction Center.

DETAILS: Patrol units responded to a residential burglary in the Village Grande development. Investigation determined that while both residents were at home, someone crawled in through an open window and stole a jewelry box from the master bedroom. The victim was in the living room watching television with the volume up loudly, while her husband was in another room on the computer when the burglary occurred.

DETAILS: Sgt. Jelinski initiated a stop on a white Chevrolet sedan for not displaying a rear license plate, tinted windows, and a broken taillight. During the stop, Jose Mangual Jr. was found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana contained in a plastic bag. Mangual was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date in West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Patrol units responded to a single car crash where the vehicle was reported to be in the roadway. Investigation found that a black VW sedan driven by Cristhian Zamora drifted off the side of the road where it struck a tree, flipped completely over and back onto the roadway and onto its tires. Zamora was determined to be DWI, and he was transported to the hospital for an evaluation. Zamora was charged with DWI and has a future date pending in West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Ptl. Hojnacki was detailed to the Target store on the report a shoplifting. Investigation determined that a female suspect had switched tags from less expensive items onto more expensive merchandise, then utilized the self-checkout to pay for the “discounted” items. She left before patrol officers arrived on scene. Det. J. Jones followed up the investigation the following day and was able to identify the suspect as Melinda Buttich. Buttich was taken into custody and processed at WWPD Headquarters. She was released pending a future date in Mercer County Superior Court.

OFFICERS: Ptl. S. Van Ness #598
Ptl. C. Knox #577
DETAILS: Ptl. S. Van Ness was detailed to Wegmans for a shoplifting. Store Asset Protection attempted to detain the suspect, but she refused to stop. She was located at the bus stop by Ptl. Knox. Investigation determined that Denise Cromwell, who provided a false name to officers, had selected various merchandise which she concealed into her backpack, a carry bag, and also a reusable shopping bag. At WWPD Headquarters, Cromwell’s true identity was discovered, and she was found to have two warrants for her arrest from Ewing and one from Hamilton. After processing, Cromwell was released pending future Court dates in West Windsor, Ewing, and Hamilton.
