Celebrate Hanukkah with Local Temples in Essex County

Bnai Keshet, Congregations Beth Ahm and Shomrei Emunah, Temple Ner Tamid and Temple Sholom of West Essex are joining together to celebrate the coming Hanukkah season.

Hanukkah Spot: A Pop-Up Miracle, Annual Community Candle Lighting and Celebration

Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 5:30 p.m.

Please join in on Tuesday, December 16 at 5:30 p.m. for the community Hanukkiah Lighting & Songs. The festivities will continue on Saturday, December 20 at 6:00 p.m. when the will again light the Hanukkah candle as well as sing songs, hear different bands perform, make gelt and crafts. There will be a Yad B’yad Letters Booth and, of course, donuts! Please bring a canned good item for the collection. The Teen Battle of the Bands will begin at 7.30 pm.

All events will take place in the Hinck Building atrium, right outside the Bow Tie Claridge theater at 486 Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair. This community wide Hanukkah event is made possible by Bnai Keshet, Congregations Beth Ahm and Shomrei Emunah, Temple Ner Tamid and Temple Sholom of West Essex.

Hanukkah Shabbat

Friday, Dec. 19 at 8:00 p.m.

Join Temple Ner Tamid for Erev Shabbat services on Friday, December 19 at 8:00 p.m. Bring your Hanukkiah (Hanukkah menorah) and 5 candles to this special Hanukkah Shabbat. There will also be a latke tasting! Bring a plate of latkes to share at the oneg (no meat, pork or peanut ingredients – please only use 100% vegetable or canola oil). The TNT Ramblers - the Temple’s own talented klezmer musicians -will be playing at the festive oneg.
