‘Downtown Thursdays’ Continue In West Orange With Music, Food

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The following news release comes courtesy of the West Orange Downtown Alliance. Learn more about posting announcements or events to your local Patch site.

Since the beginning of June, Downtown West Orange Alliance has been welcoming residents and visitors downtown every Thursday night for Downtown Thursdays - evenings full of creative programs, music, and outdoor dining.

Now, with one month more of Downtown Thursdays ahead, and an even more fun-packed July - the Downtown West Orange Alliance invites the West Orange and surrounding communities to come downtown to eat, shop, and enjoy special programs ranging from a guided food tour, self-guided chocolate tour, live ice carving performance and even a kids-crafts-focused evening.

Future events take place Thursday July 8th, July 15th, July 22nd, and July 29th from 5-8PM at distinct locations in the downtown. All dates feature outdoor games, dining and music in addition to unique programs crafted for each evening.

Details on the upcoming four events are below:

Downtown Thursdays @ Eagle Rock - Food Tours, Live Music with the Howlin’ Poets

Location: Quigley Lot, 105 Harrison Avenue, West Orange

July 15th 5-8PM

Downtown Thursdays @ Tory Corner - Chocolate Tour, Free Flow Yoga

Location: 87 Washington Street

July 22nd 5-8PM

Downtown Thursdays @ St. Marks – Costume Characters, Live Ice Carving

Location: 30 Main Street

July 29th 5-8PM

Downtown Thursdays @ The Valley - Crafts, Chalk Art, Food

Location: 55 Kingsley

Care has been taken by the Downtown West Orange Alliance team to choose locations across the Downtown and spotlight local businesses in the event marketing and on the day-of the events.

“We had an incredible time at Downtown Thursdays in June,” said Meg Brill, Executive Director of the Downtown West Orange Alliance. “Now, we’re looking forward to meeting even more great friends and families. Come to Downtown Thursdays and meet our local business owners, grab a meal from a local restaurant and dine outside with us, shop local, and enjoy the unique experiences we’ve crafted with local partners.”

Alex Reinoso from Light Bulb Coffee Shop said, “We loved new people coming through our doors for our fresh baked chocolate cookies on the Chocolate Tour at Downtown Thursday in Tory Corner. We are a relatively new business in West Orange and every time someone finds us they are thrilled to try our coffee and the cozy cafe environment we’ve created on Main Street. We are thrilled to see new faces walk through our doors. I am very grateful to our downtown alliance creating a community environment and supporting small business. We look forward to the next Downtown Thursday in our area of Downtown – Downtown Thursday in Tory Corner on July 15th.”
