High School Step Team Places Second in Country
The West Orange High School boys step team won $2,000 toward senior scholarships and uniforms.
After placing first last year with their "Nerd" routine, the West Orange High School boys step team placed second in the country in the 2013 Youth Step USA High School Step Competition.
This year's competition took took place Memorial Day weekend at the historic Forum in Harrisburg, Pa.
The team took second to Virginia while competing against teams from across the country.

This year the theme was "A Day in High School", which the judges, who are established fraternity and sorority members, critiqued as very entertaining, enjoyable and creative.
The boys won a gift prize of $2,000 dollars which will go towards scholarships for graduating senior members and uniforms for next year.

“The team is very excited about their 2nd place showing since all teams were very outstanding in their performances,” said William Farley, Music Educator Concert Choir and Jubilee Choir, Boys Step Team. “The team looks forwards to next year when they plan to reclaim their number one status.”
