MuckFest MS Comes to Essex County This Weekend

South Mountain Reservation hosts the annual event to benefit Multiple Sclerosis.

Hundreds of muck-seeking participants will leap head first into the filth in on Saturday, June 15 at MuckFest. The event benefits the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society.

This year’s event will again be held in Essex County’s South Mountain Reservation in West Orange NJ. MuckFest MS promises to be the filthiest, messiest, dirtiest experience one could have playing in the mud. This five-mile mucky obstacle course will challenge the most experienced athlete as well as the fun loving adventure seeker to slip and slosh through a mucky mess to finish the course.

The course will feature obstacles such as the “Dragon Crawl”, “Steeple Chase”, “Rat Run” and the “Thunderstorm”. Participants will get mucky while crossing creeks, climbing ropes, and swinging over pits of mud. Let the muck flow when the participants run through the filth to climb through the “Spider Nest”; let them channel their inner kid when swinging over mucky mines on the “Spinner."

MuckFest MS is designed to push the everyday runner to the extreme. It is for people who are looking for the next thrilling experience. Create a team or fly solo, but take the MuckFest MS challenge! Registration is open here or at MuckFestMS.org/Northeast.

Friends, family, and donors are welcome to cheer on their MuckRuckus MS warriors and join in on the mucky festivities. Take your little ones, ages 4-11, into our kid zone to roll in the mucky mess so they can embrace the spirit of MuckRuckus MS.  If muck is not your thing; volunteers will be needed for before, during and after the event. Interested volunteers can register here or at MuckFestMS.com.
