Police: Brooklyn Man Pushes Owner, Robs Jerry's Artist Outlet
[UPDATED] Max Dornfeld, 32, was arrested in connection with strong-armed robbery where a few hundred dollars of high-end art supplies was stolen from the Essex Green Shopping Center store Wednesday, police say.

Police arrested a Brooklyn man Wednesday suspected to be involved in a strong-armed robbery at Jerry's Artist Outlet at around 12:30 p.m. in Essex Green Shopping Center, West Orange police said.
West Orange police arrested Max Dornfeld, 32, shortly after the alleged afternoon robbery while he attempted to drive away, officials said.Â

According to police, the owner noticed Dornfeld had unpaid for items under his jacket as he was checking out at the art store register. Â Â
When the owner and his son confronted Dornfeld, he pushed the owner and ran out of the store with the high-end art supplies, police said.Â

A UPS driver in the parking lot described the suspect's car to police who stopped him before he entered Route 280 in West Orange, police said.
Dornfeld was charged with robbery and released with a court date of Thursday, April 11.
The alleged theft occurred just three days after a West Orange man was robbed of his car at gunpoint in the parking lot of the same shopping center.
