Police: Man Beaten, Robbed at Gunpoint
Five men allegedly assaulted and robbed a man with a gun Saturday night while walking near the intersection of Ridge and Watson avenues in West Orange.

A New York man was allegedly beaten and robbed at gunpoint by five men Saturday night in West Orange, police said.Â
According to police, the Queens, N.Y. man was walking near the intersection of Ridge and Watson avenues just after 10:15 p.m. on May 4.Â
The New York man told police while he was walking, five men surrounded him and one pulled a silver handgun.Â

The man with the gun demanded money and threatened to shoot if he didn't get it, police said.

The muggers then went through the New York man's pockets, stealing $300 in cash, his wallet and cell phone, valued at $200, and took off east on Ridge Road toward Rosedale Cemetery, police said.Â
West Orange First Aid Squad responded but the New York man refused medical treatment, the report said.Â
