Police: Three Cars Burglarized Overnight

In the string of burglaries, two of the cars were unlocked while one had its driver's side window broken, police say.

Police are investigating a string of car break-ins overnight Tuesday throughout town, West Orange police said.

In the first incident on May 7, an unlocked 2007 Volkswagen Jetta was broken in to with $23 in loose change reported stolen, police said. 

Addtionally, police reported, an unlocked 2013 Lexus GS3 was ransacked on Brookside Road, although nothing was reported stolen.

A 2006 Honda Pilot was broken into overnight on Mount Pleasant Avenue, police said, and a Coach wallet containing $128 in cash, as well as credit cards, was stolen.

According to the report, the SUV's driver's side window was smashed and the passenger window was reportedly moved off its tracks.

The West Orange resident told police the car alarm woke them up late Tuesday night.

Police said the resident saw a man running down their driveway and onto Mount Pleasant Avenue.
