Red Cross Offering Assistance to Fire Victims Across Essex County

The Red Cross of Northern NJ is offering emergency shelters, food, and emotional support following several domestic fires in the area.

The American Red Cross is currently helping families who have been affected by recent home fires in Paterson, East Orange and Orange.

East Orange Home Fire – 11/9/2014

The Red Cross Disaster Action Team responded to a home fire on Springdale Avenue in East Orange. Red Cross is assisting a family of 5 with temporary lodging, food and clothing.

Paterson Home Fire – 11/9/2014

The Red Cross is providing temporary lodging to 3 families, 12 individuals, displaced by a home fire in Paterson.

Orange Apartment Building Fire – 11/7/2014

The Red Cross continues to be on hand to assist the more than 150 people displaced by Friday’s apartment building fire in Orange. Last night, 14 families, 24 people, spent the night at the Red Cross shelter located at Park Avenue Elementary School, 231 Park Ave in Orange, New Jersey.

The American Red Cross North Jersey Region shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters throughout the counties of Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren.
