Sharknado 2 Features Jersey Flare With Ian Ziering, Tara Reid

West Orange native Ian Ziering is back this summer as the Great White slayer in “Sharknado 2: The Second One.”

The former “Beverley Hills 90210” star reprises his role as Fin Shepard in the sequel to “Sharknado,” which drew 318,232 tweets during its premiere last July. Nielsen Social called the Syfy channel flick the “most social TV movie of 2013,” according to NJ.com.

The sequel will again feature sharks raining down out of tornadoes on terrified people. The latest film was filmed in March in New York and also features New Jersey’s Liberty Island.

Ziering, 50, is joined by fellow New Jersey native Tara Reid, 38, of Wyckoff, as well as Vivica A. Fox, Sugar Ray singer Mark McGrath, “30 Rock’s” Judah Friedlander and Dante Palminteri, Chazz Palminteri’s son.

“Sharknado 2” premieres July 30 on the SyFy channel and will appear in theaters for one on Aug. 21.
