The West Orange School District recognized the 33rd annual National Women and Girls in Sports Day during the Girls Basketball game on Feb. 7 as part of the movement's effort to empower women and girls to become more active, develop physical strength and challenge themselves in sports and in life.

According to the NGWSD, "the confidence, strength, and character gained through sports and physical activity are the very tools girls need to become strong leaders, in their own lives as well."
