West Orange High School Basketball Star Commits To Penn State
West Orange High School Senior Mya Bembry scored her 1,000th career point this year.

West Orange High School Senior Mya Bembry signed on with Penn State to play Division I basketball on Nov. 20 as family, friends, and coaches cheered her on.
After fielding offers from around the country, Bembry decided on Penn State and committed on Aug. 7. On Nov. 20, she signed her paperwork and will now play for Big 10 Penn State as a Nittany Lion.

Bembry scored her 1,000th career point during a 61-36 win over Teaneck at home on Jan. 30 and had 10 rebounds and five steals to log her 12th double-double of the year.
According to statistics, Bembry averaged 19.5 points per game, 13.5 rebounds, and 4.9 steals per game. She was named Super Essex Conference Player of the Year in 2017 and helped capture the first NJSIAA North Jersey Section 1, Group 4 state sectional title in program history on March 7.
